Full-Time Internship Position (Greater Washington/Baltimore area)

Role Description
​
This is a full-time on-site internship at Illest Environmental. The intern will be responsible for supporting on-site environmental assessments, noise and vibration assessments, as well as operational and administrative work for large infrastructure construction projects. This role will involve supporting collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to address acoustical and environmental challenges and ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Responsibilities

Assist with Engineer in the development of environmental compliance plans and reports.

Assist with Engineer in implementing and maintaining noise and vibration monitoring plans in compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.

Assist with Engineer in operating and calibrating sound level meters, vibration monitors, and noise monitoring terminals and perform analysis of the collected data.

Assist Engineer with designing noise control solutions by analyzing data and providing recommendations based on assessments.

Collaborate with project teams to ensure client expectations are met with high-quality deliverables to address acoustical challenges.

Learn about compliance with regulations, standards, and project specifications regarding noise and vibration standards.

Support community relations teams in response to noise-related inquiries or complaints.

Qualifications
​

Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Acoustical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Desire to grow a career in the environmental field.

Desire to gain experience in noise and vibration assessments, data analysis, and noise control solutions.

Proactive attitude and ability to shift focus as projects and tasks come up.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Effective communication and teamwork skills.
